National Fairs
 
 
1) How many synopses will be short-listed for the National Fair?

Of the total entries received, our judges will shortlist only 150 projects.

 

2) How many awards are given out?
  • 4 individual projects and 2 team projects will be selected from each National Fair. These national fair winners will then qualify to form the Indian contingent to represent India at Intel ISEF.
  • In addition,The best project from each subject category will receive a special recognition award.

 

3) How many students are sent to the US?
There will be two National Fairs held in which 2 individual and 1 team project will be selected from each National Fair to form the Indian contingent. This contingent will then represent India at Intel ISEF.

 

4) Does the project really need to be expensive and eye-catching?
You can make your project presentation attractive even without incurring a lot of expenses. For this, your creativity will be your greatest asset. Always try to make the project presentation as attractive and innovative as possible.

 

5) Is it necessary to display a model related to the project at the fair?
No, it is not necessary to make a model related to a project. You can make a model only if applicable. For instance, an engineering project will in most cases need a model, however in a Botany project you might need a few samples here and there, and not really an entire model.

 

6) What would be the consequences if there were a clash between the project topics?
The one that has more supporting material in terms of data and related information will be chosen.

 

7) How can I get scientific help for higher-level projects?
We have tied-up with many labs. Once your project is selected for the National Fair, a list of Labs where you can work will be provided to you. You will also be provided with guidance as and when you require it.

 

8) Are technical drawings allowed with the synopsis? Do equations count as words in the synopsis?
There is a Screening Report that you have to fill up so you can provide all extra information there. You don’t need to fill these details in the synopsis.

 

9) Are laptops allowed for presentations? If yes, will Intel provide for it or do we, as participants need to arrange for it?
Yes, you can get your laptop. However we do provide computers to the participants during the National Fairs.

 

10) What should I wear for the National Fair?
You are expected to wear your School Uniform to the National fair.

 

11) Can I make handwritten charts?
For better clarity, a printed chart is always preferred. But using a hand written chart is not a deterrent in scoring if it is neatly written and well presented.

 

12) Who travels with the participant to the National / International Fair?
For the National Fair, the guide accompanies the participant. At the Intel ISEF the Intel staff will accompany the winners.

 

13) Who is an Adult Sponsor?
Your guide is also called your Adult sponsor.

 

14) What are the arrangements made for the students and their guides?
The students and their guides are provided with food, lodging, 2nd class travels reimbursement to & from the venue.
